TopKåta – Tents for Events, specialise in hiring tipi tents for events throughout New Zealand since 2013. An exclusive range of event tipis provide an elite alternative to the marquee structure. Each tipi seats 70 guests comfortably, and a collection of 14 tipis can be joined to host over 1,000 people, making a stunning and totally unique space that will ‘wow’ guests and create fantastic memories.
TopKåta is the only authentic Nordic Pine tipi company in the North Island, and the original & largest in New Zealand!
Much of the unique character and charm of the TopKåta Tipis can be put down to the poles – natural, practical, environmentally friendly and truly beautiful.
TopKåta tipi tents are based on the traditional Nordic Kata design. The nomadic reindeer herding people of Northern Scandinavia constructed temporary homes using wooden poles covered in animal hides. Today TopKåta tipis are made from the same timber found only in Northern Scandinavia. Each pole is created from 100 year old, late maturing, chemical free spruce, sourced from sustainable forests. In the winter months, Swedish foresters still select and fell each tree by hand, just as generations before!
Fortunately we have advanced from animal hides with our custom made, lightweight, waterproof and wind resistant canvas, offering a sustainable, eco-friendly solution to the PVC normally used in marquee structures.
Our hire range also includes matting, dancefloors, firepits, festoons, specialist lighting, and Scandinavian style wooden tables and benches. Combining our beautiful Scandinavian-Style wooden tables and bench seats, with our atmospheric specialty lighting options, along with the magic of our tipis, we will create a totally unique space that will bring the 'WOW' factor and provide fantastic memories to last a lifetime!
