From London to the shores of beautiful Lake Tarawera - this couples story was truly “just meant to be!” 

Having both grown up holidaying across the lake from each other at their family baches at Lake Tarawera, provided Sophie and Ben their fondest memories. But this is not where their love story began - in true kiwi style, it was through mutual friends on their way to an All Blacks game many years later, so when it came time to plan their wedding, these two knew that the shores of Tarawera was the perfect location for them to tie the knot!

Their wedding was styled to make the most of the natural surrounding, with a relaxed vibe that captured the essence of their childhood memories.  Cue TopKata...not wanting to go the typical standard white marquee route, our tipis were the perfect compliment to the natural surroundings giving Sophie and Ben not only the opportunity to maximise the views but also the ability to personalise their venue to create their dream wedding.

Their day couldn't have been more perfect! Sophie arrived at their wedding on the ‘Colleen’, Ben's family vintage wooden cruiser, the lake was still and the weather was beautiful. As the sun went down our lights lit up the outdoor dance floor where guests partied the night away under the stars. To top it all off, Sophie and Ben put a true ‘kiwi’ spin on their wedding dessert with a visit from Mr. Whippy - after all he’s every childhood kiwi childhood memory!
